Walker can acknowledge it all he wants, but City's 114 charges aren't going away because players kept their heads down.  •  Bayern and Arsenal both played like they'd rather be anywhere else, which tracks for a midweek Champions League dead rubber.  •  Kargbo's back from the dead, which is fine, but Blackburn need him to actually change something rather than just exist on the bench.  •  PSG reminded Barcelona that even a good season means nothing when you run into a team that wants it more, especially in Paris.  •  Brighton are heavy favorites and shouldn't need to sweat a Conference League opener against a mid-table Czech side, so expect them to do exactly that.

Walker acknowledges Manchester City’s 114 charges concern amid potential medal stripping

Kyle Walker has acknowledged that Manchester City's 114 financial rule breaches represent a serious concern for the club. According to Mirror Football, the defender stated that he and former teammates focused on performing on the pitch while the charges case proceeded. City were found guilty of the breaches by an independent panel and have since appealed the decision. The club has consistently denied any wrongdoing throughout the process.

The potential consequences for City could prove severe. Mirror Football reports that sanctions under consideration include substantial fines, points deductions significant enough to relegate the club to the Championship, and possible transfer embargoes. The Mail has suggested a further deduction could be imposed, potentially resulting in a second season in the second tier, though the EFL would not be obliged to enforce such a punishment. Among the most contentious possibilities is the stripping of titles won during the period covered by the charges.

Walker, who spent eight seasons at Manchester City and won 17 major trophies including six Premier League titles, acknowledged the awkward implications of potential title removal. He confirmed to talkSPORT that he has the words 'four in a row' tattooed on his leg to commemorate City's four consecutive Premier League titles. When asked by presenter Andy Goldstein whether he had arranged tattoo removal in case medals were stripped, Walker indicated he would reluctantly proceed with that step if necessary, though he expressed hope the situation would not reach that point.

The charges relate to accusations that City artificially inflated their income through sponsorship deals deemed 'sham' arrangements by investigators. Walker characterised the matter as 'the big elephant in the room' affecting the club.
