Mourinho shifting Valverde to right-back is either genius or desperation, and given Real Madrid's injury list, it's probably both.  •  Preston had their chances and bottled it; Alexander's regret is just the sound of a manager watching his job security evaporate.  •  Gómez's 55.7-yard screamer against Palace wasn't a highlight, it was a war crime—and Brighton executed Palace so thoroughly they probably should've stopped at three.

Haaland hobbles off after scoring twice in City’s win over Ipswich

Manchester City extended their perfect Premier League record to seven consecutive wins with a 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday. Erling Haaland scored twice in the match, taking his tally to 12 goals in eight games this season, but concerns emerged after he limped from the pitch in the closing stages.

According to reporting by Independent Football and Metro Football, Haaland suffered the injury during a challenge with Ipswich substitute Jack Clarke in injury time. The incident saw the Norwegian striker catch Clarke's studs whilst attempting to strike the ball. Manager Enzo Maresca stated that he had asked Haaland about the injury and received reassurance that the player believed he was unharmed, though Maresca acknowledged awaiting a fuller assessment.

City faced multiple injury setbacks during the second half, with Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic and Nico O'Reilly all substituted. Forward Antoine Semenyo was also observed limping at the final whistle, with Maresca indicating concern about the winger's condition. O'Reilly's withdrawal appeared related to an ongoing back issue from a previous match against Coventry.

Maresca became the first manager in Premier League history to win his opening seven top-flight matches in charge of a single club.
