Walker can acknowledge it all he wants, but City's 114 charges aren't going away because players kept their heads down.  •  Bayern and Arsenal both played like they'd rather be anywhere else, which tracks for a midweek Champions League dead rubber.  •  Kargbo's back from the dead, which is fine, but Blackburn need him to actually change something rather than just exist on the bench.  •  PSG reminded Barcelona that even a good season means nothing when you run into a team that wants it more, especially in Paris.  •  Brighton are heavy favorites and shouldn't need to sweat a Conference League opener against a mid-table Czech side, so expect them to do exactly that.

Real Sociedad equal European away record with 6-0 rout at Lillestrøm as Gómez becomes top Europa League scorer

Real Sociedad secured their first Europa League league-phase victory of the season with a 6-0 away win at Lillestrøm in Norway on Thursday, equalling their record European away triumph. According to Football España, the scoreline matched the club's biggest away win in continental competition, a 6-0 victory achieved at Vardar in 2017. UEFA identified that earlier result as the largest away win in Europa League history.

Left-back Sergio Gómez was the standout performer, scoring twice to become Real Sociedad's top scorer in the competition. Gómez struck in the 25th and 27th minutes with finishes on either foot, first with his left and then his right past goalkeeper Dahlberg. The dual strike puts him ahead of rivals ahead of Lyon's upcoming visit to Anoeta.

The Basque side's dominance came after an inconsistent start to their European campaign. They had lost 2-1 at home to Bournemouth in their opening fixture before drawing 1-1 away to Union SG on matchday two. Mikel Oyarzabal's creativity in the eighth minute proved decisive in turning the contest decisively in Real Sociedad's favour.

Luka Sučić added two goals, scoring in the 33rd and 72nd minutes. Orri Steinn Óskarsson made it four in the 64th minute with assistance from Gonçalo Guedes, whilst Arsen Zakharyan completed the rout in the 80th minute from a Benat Turrientes pass. Lillestrøm's sole opportunity came via a 50th-minute penalty which Thomas Lehne Olsen missed.
