Walker can acknowledge it all he wants, but City's 114 charges aren't going away because players kept their heads down.  •  Bayern and Arsenal both played like they'd rather be anywhere else, which tracks for a midweek Champions League dead rubber.  •  Kargbo's back from the dead, which is fine, but Blackburn need him to actually change something rather than just exist on the bench.  •  PSG reminded Barcelona that even a good season means nothing when you run into a team that wants it more, especially in Paris.  •  Brighton are heavy favorites and shouldn't need to sweat a Conference League opener against a mid-table Czech side, so expect them to do exactly that.

Nike secures boot deal with Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise

Nike have agreed a boot sponsorship with Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, according to reports from Footy Headlines cited by Bavarian Football Works. The French player has operated without a boot sponsor in recent seasons, instead customising his footwear to match his kit colours for each match.

Olise has demonstrated a particular attachment to the Nike Hypervenom Phantom III, a model discontinued around 2018. He sources vintage deadstock pairs and commissions custom artwork to align them with Bayern's opposition kits. Nike executives identified demand for the heritage boot through Olise's sustained commitment to the model.

The sponsorship coincides with significant changes to Nike's boot portfolio. The Phantom silo faces discontinuation by 2027, creating space for the Hypervenom's return. Olise is positioned to headline the revamped Hypervenom range, echoing the original commercial strategy centred on Neymar. He reportedly tested a white prototype during France training in June.

The deal represents a setback for Adidas, Bayern's kit partner, who were unable to secure one of the club's key attacking players. However, Nike athletes have previously played for Bayern, and the arrangement may elevate Olise's commercial profile whilst proving financially significant for the American sportswear manufacturer.
