Walker can acknowledge it all he wants, but City's 114 charges aren't going away because players kept their heads down.  •  Bayern and Arsenal both played like they'd rather be anywhere else, which tracks for a midweek Champions League dead rubber.  •  Kargbo's back from the dead, which is fine, but Blackburn need him to actually change something rather than just exist on the bench.  •  PSG reminded Barcelona that even a good season means nothing when you run into a team that wants it more, especially in Paris.  •  Brighton are heavy favorites and shouldn't need to sweat a Conference League opener against a mid-table Czech side, so expect them to do exactly that.

Lille deserved victory against Brest, says RMC analyst Acherchour

Lille drew 1-1 with Brest in a match where analyst Walid Acherchour felt the hosts should have won. Speaking on RMC's After Foot programme, Acherchour suggested that a Lille victory would not have been illogical given the balance of play.

Acherchour noted a contrast between this performance and Lille's other recent showings. He observed that Lille typically win matches they should lose whilst failing to win matches they should win, but this encounter fell into the latter category. He highlighted that whilst Brest scored what he described as a fortunate goal, they created little else during the match.

The RMC analyst praised Lille's defensive setup and ball recovery, with their high defensive line functioning effectively. However, he identified struggles in the final third as a key problem, attributing difficulties to individual players. Dilane Bakwa drew specific criticism after being moved to an unfamiliar position; Bakwa was replaced in the 65th minute.

Acherchour's assessment indicates Lille controlled significant portions of the game but were unable to convert that dominance into goals, allowing Brest to depart with a draw.
