Gyokeres came to Arsenal to be the answer and instead became the question—January can't come soon enough for either side.  •  Haaland's limping off is City's only real problem right now, because everything else looks like a cheat code on seven wins.  •  West Ham aren't messing about in the Championship—one point off the top and playing like they've got something to prove.  •  Arbeloa's got Fulham moving the right way if they can nick a win against Hull; the hard part starts now.  •  Wirtz created nine chances at Brentford and Liverpool still had to grind it out—that's the kind of performance that wins titles, not the scoreline.

Iwobi goal secures Fulham’s first Premier League win under Arbeloa against Hull

Fulham claimed their first Premier League victory under Álvaro Arbeloa with a 1-0 win over Hull City, according to The Guardian Football. Alex Iwobi scored in the first half to lift the side off the foot of the table at the seventh attempt, easing pressure on the manager after an uncomfortable week questioning his future.

The victory came despite Fulham squandering several opportunities throughout the match. Gonzalo García headed against the crossbar from close range in the second half, one of numerous chances the hosts failed to convert. Arbeloa acknowledged the team's profligacy after the final whistle, noting he had seen similar patterns before and emphasising the importance of converting chances to play with greater composure late in games.

Fulham's numerical disadvantage in stoppage time, when Ryan Sessegnon received a red card, proved immaterial against Hull's ineffective attacking display. The visitors remain winless in five matches and produced what their head coach Sergej Jakirovic described as the worst performance since his arrival at the club.

The win lifts Fulham away from the relegation zone, though Arbeloa expressed frustration at how the team continued to miss opportunities despite demonstrating clear superiority over their opponents.
