Nico Williams

A Spanish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Athletic Bilbao and Spain, Nico Williams won the Euro 2024 final against England where he scored the opening goal and was named Player of the Match, along with the 2024 Copa del Rey where he provided the assist for Sancet’s goal and was named Man of the Match as Athletic won on penalties. Recognised for his speed and dribbling skills, he has made 167+ appearances for Athletic Bilbao, scoring 31 goals since joining the youth academy in 2013 and becoming a teammate of elder brother Iñaki Williams.

On July 4, 2025, Athletic Bilbao announced a contract extension through 2035. The 2025–26 season has been hampered by a persistent pubalgia issue which caused him to miss several matches. In the La Liga season, Nico Williams has recorded 6 goals and 3 assists in 1,687 minutes. Following a hamstring injury in May, an MRI ruled out a tendon lesion and confirmed an absence of two to three weeks, putting him on track to be available for Spain’s World Cup opener against Cape Verde.
